For the first time in 57 years the Olympics are in Tokyo! !! What is the situation around the venue?

The Olympic Games is a big festival of sport competitions which happens once in every 4 years. Although there were various difficulties in organising it this time, we were able to hold it safely in Japan.

Since this is the Olympic Games held in Japan, I made a report regarding “what is the atmosphere around the national stadium, which is the main arena of the Olympics?”
I couldn’t go to the venue, but I wanted to see the atmosphere around the venue, so this is an article regarding it.

Introducing the area around the venue divided into 3 areas This time, we will introduce it in three major areas!

Open space of the Olympic logo with lots of people

Many people gathered at the Olympic logo square, and everyone was taking photos here and there. Of course, not only Japanese people enjoyed taking photos, but people from various countries lined up firmly and took photos in order.

At the venue I could feel the atmosphere of people looking forward to the Olympics, and I was able to realise that the Olympics were finally held.

The Olympic Games are an international event that anyone who loves sports can enjoy regardless of the country they are from.
Above all, it is a big stage for the trained players of each country, and it is a big chance to challenge the world.

I’m really glad that the sports festival was held safely with the audience working together, and that opportunity to compete was given to the athletes.

National stadium – the only sales venue

This is the venue near the national stadium which is the main venue of the Olympic Games.
The inside was well protected, and Olympic commemorative T-shirts and image character goods were sold.

Since this was the second day of the event, only the people who were shopping were authorised people and only some visitors. It seemed that mainly Olympic T-shirts and towels were being sold.

This year, the competition was held with no visitors as a measure to prevent spreading the infection.

“But I want to buy Olympic goods and have fun at home!” I could feel that while seeing enthusiastic visitors at the sales venue.

The town around the venue looks like?

This is a picture of people who came really early to the main gate.
Unfortunately, the venue was surrounded by a fence that is off limits to anyone other than those who were involved, so even I was forced to look for a better position to take a picture.

To take the moment when the players came out, the best position was only along the road from the location of this picture to Sendagaya station.

This is the main gate of the national stadium, which is used as the main arena for the Olympics this time.
As I thought, it was strictly guarded and I could not get inside.

As this time it was held in Japan, I really wanted to see the competition.

The buildings and shops near the main arena were decorated with Olympic welcoming flags and decorations, and the atmosphere of the town also welcomed the Olympics and athletes.

There is also a big TOKYO 2020 signboard, and although there are no visitors, infection control is solid, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of the Olympic Games just by visiting the area around the venue.

Postscript

It is a difficult world with infectious disease, but by taking thorough preventive measures against it, we were able to safely hold the second Olympic Games in this small country named Japan without interrupting the long history of the Olympic Games.
