We will introduce you 10 Japanese restaurant chains this time.
Have you heard of any of them? Not all of them are Japanese food restaurants but try to visit them when you come to Japan!
Chain restaurants normally have the same menu and price no matter which location of the chain you go to and the quality of the food stays the same.
So, you can enjoy dining out without worrying about the budget!
10 Japanese restaurants!
Ichiran
It is a Ramen chain that serves you thin and firm noodles with Tonkotsu (pork bone) soup. The distance between its kitchen and guest seats is designed to be within 28.8m (94ft. 6in.) so that your Ramen is delivered to you within 15 seconds after it is made.
There are other unique features that you would find in this restaurant.
Please buy your food ticket at the entrance first and then order.
Gindaco
Takoyaki is a widely-enjoyed casual food in Japan. In Japan, octopus is eaten not only grilled but raw. Well, the octopus in Takoyaki is boiled, so you don’t need to worry if you are afraid to eat it raw.
The good thing about Takoyaki is that you can enjoy its crispy (the outside) and creamy (the inside) feature at the same time.
It has salty-sweet (called “Amakara” in Japanese) sauce, green laver and dried bonito shavings on top of it. Apart from normal Takoyaki, Gindaco serves unique-taste Takoyaki, too.
Hidakaya
It is a Chinese restaurant chain that not only serves casual set menu for lunch or dinner but also has a wide variety of food that goes with alcohol.
Their gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) has plain taste with a lot of vegetables (60% vegetables and 40% ground meat) and goes very well with beer! You often see students and businessmen enjoying ramen and gyoza.
Gyukaku
It is a Japanese style barbecue restaurant but do not expect a big steak.
All the meat is cut into small pieces and seasoned to make it easier for you to grill the meat. It is popular with families and groups.
Cocoichi
It is a curry restaurant that has a variety of toppings so that you can adjust its flavor and make your own curry! It is popular even among Indian people!
Sukiya
It is a gyudon (beef bowl) restaurant but also has some seafood.
You will see a variety of toppings which you can choose from and cheese gyudon is very popular. Me? I like adding takana (pickled mustard leaf), mentai (roe of walleye pollack marinated in a liquid seasoning with red chili pepper) and mayonnaise.
This chain often implements a campaign with popular animation series etc.
Yoshinoya
Japanese people love this Gyudon restaurant, too. There, thinly sliced beef ribs in fermented seasoning with soy sauce and white wine placed on top of rice are waiting for you.
Enjoy this beef bowl with a lot of red pickled ginger on top.
Marukame Seimen / Udon
There are Udon restaurant chains as well in Japan. This Udon with original noodles and Dashi soup which is prepared on the day of serving in each restaurant is a special dish.
A wide range of toppings including Tempura is another reason that this restaurant is loved by many people.
Sushirō
It is a popular “Kaitenzushi” restaurant in Japan where prepared sushi pieces are placed on small plates and going around on a conveyor belt, waiting for you to pick them up.
Sushirō has about 600 restaurants and you can expect the same taste and freshness in each restaurant.
Saizeriya
You can enjoy real Western food at popular prices. There are more than 1,000 restaurants in Saizeriya chain and Italian people enjoy the food, too!
The prices are too cheap and they make you wonder how the company makes profit!
