Techniques used in verse section : A Basic Japanese pronunciation rule & Technique to sing smoothly.

A basic Japanese pronunciation rule : when two or more vowel are combined together as one syllable.
“Tatoeba kimi no kao ni mukashi yori”
Kataomoi by Aimer
If you have a look at the very first syllable which contains ‘o’ and ‘e’ combined together in the verse section, you’ll be puzzled out how you can pronounce them.
Well, if you find two or more vowels combined together as one syllable, all you need to know is that you can pronounce them separately.
The next combination of two vowels as one syllable is ‘a’ and ‘o’, and the same rule is applied to this as well.
Useful Technique to sing smoothly
If you put an emphasis on every consonants in the lyrics, your singing voice is going to sound very choppy.
To make your singing sounds more smooth and natural, you need to pay attention to which consonants you need to enunciate.

I engaged in childhood education, music education, and second language acquisition research while I was studying at Yokohama National University as a graduate student. After graduation, I worked at an international preschool in Tokyo. Currently, I’m working as a bilingual teacher at an online English school and writing some articles about research on bilingual education. I post the cover songs videos of my favorite artists and my piano performances on Instagram and Youtube, so I’ll appreciate that if you go and check my posts. Thank you.
